# Releases

> The current release of every Droost project, how to require it, and where each project's release notes live.

Droost Framework's first stable releases came out together on
27 October 2026.

| Droost UI Kit | 2.0.0 | `composer require --dev 'drupal/droost_ui_kit:^2.0'` (with droost and droost_build) | [drupal.org](https://www.drupal.org/project/droost_ui_kit/releases) |

## Why the module is 2.0 and the command 1.0

The module's releases come from its 2.x branch, which rebuilt it on Tool
API, so its first stable release is 2.0.0. Droost UI Kit follows the
module's numbering. The command, the engine, the recipe and the theme start
at 1.0.0.

## Tool API is still beta

[Tool API](https://www.drupal.org/project/tool) has no stable release yet,
so a site requires it at beta stability itself (`'drupal/tool:^1.0@beta'`):
Composer ignores a dependency's own stability flags.

## Coming from before 2.0

Droost 1.x is deprecated and unsupported, and the 2.0 alphas cannot be
upgraded in place. See [Upgrading](https://droost.org/docs/upgrading.md).

Droost UI Patterns is obsolete: it continues as
[Droost UI Kit](https://droost.org/docs/droost-ui-kit.md).
