# The Claude Code plugin

> Install droost's plugin in Claude Code to watch each run beside your chat: the steps, the spec, the checks and the review, live.

droost ships a plugin for Claude Code: the **run panel**. While the agent
works, it shows the run beside your chat, so you can see where it is without
asking.

## What it shows

- **The steps**: plan, code, test, complete, and which one the run is on.
- **Spec**: what the agent is building, and the proof of each requirement.
- **Activity**: what the agent says it is doing, next to what it actually did.
- **Gates**: every check's result, in the same words as the report.
- **Seeker**: the review's findings, and how each was closed.
- Tabs of your own, if you add any ([Hooks and walls](https://droost.org/docs/hooks-and-walls.md#panel-tabs)).

## Install it

droost must already be installed in the project (see
[Set up by hand](https://droost.org/docs/setup-by-hand.md)). The plugin comes inside the droost
package, so there is nothing else to download.

In your own terminal, in the project's root folder:

```bash
claude plugin marketplace add ./tools/droost/vendor/droost/workflow/claude-plugins
claude plugin install droost@droost --scope project
```

`--scope project` turns it on for this project only. Then start Claude Code
in the project.

Installing a plugin is yours to do. If you ask the agent to do it, droost's
guard will refuse and hand the commands back to you.

### Try it for one session only

```bash
claude --plugin-dir tools/droost/vendor/droost/workflow/claude-plugins/droost
```

## Using it

- It opens by itself while a run is going. Type `/droost-panel` to open it any
  time.
- Keys `1` to `9` switch tabs. `m` shrinks it to one line and back. `Esc`
  closes it.
- It sits on the right in Claude Code's fullscreen layout (`/tui fullscreen`)
  on a terminal at least 110 columns wide, and above the prompt otherwise.

To change when it opens, set `panel.open` in `droost/droost.yml`: `auto`
(while a run is going, the default), `always`, or `never`.

## On DDEV

The plugin runs droost to read the run. If droost runs in a container, tell
the plugin how. When Claude Code asks for the plugin's **droost command**
(or later, in `/plugin`), enter:

```text
ddev exec tools/droost/vendor/bin/droost
```

## Updating it

The plugin updates with droost: after `composer update -d tools/droost
droost/workflow`, run `claude plugin marketplace update droost`, then restart
Claude Code.

## What it does not do

It only reads. The panel never changes the run, answers a question, or
refuses anything. Everything it shows comes from `droost workflow:panel
--json`, which you can run yourself.
